About Peter L. Levin
I am a senior advisor to the secretary, and chief technology officer, in the Department of Veterans’ Affairs. I also am a consulting professor at Stanford University, and a computer science advisory board member at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Before joining the VA at the end of May, 2009, I was a board director of the successful open source network security company Astaro AG, and a venture partner at Ventizz Capital Partners. I am also the co-founder and former CEO of DAFCA, Inc., and spent several years as a general partner at Munich-based Techno Venture Management. I had the privilege of working in Washington during the Clinton administration, while on leave from the Electrical and Computer Engineering faculty at WPI, where I began my career.
I studied at Carnegie Mellon University, did my post-doctoral work at the Technical University of Munich, and enjoyed a sabbatical year as a Humboldt Fellow at the Technical University of Darmstadt.
These days I am learning about cybersecurity, massively scalable “web 2.0″ architectures, and healthcare IT.
My email personal address is pllevin_at_comnetcore.net.
THE POSTS ON THIS WEBSITE DESCRIBE MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCES AND PERSPECTIVES. BY NO MEANS DO THEY NECESSARILY REPRESENT THE OPINIONS OR POLICIES OF THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT, OR THE DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS’ AFFAIRS.
